Obituary for Robert B. "Bob" Santos
Robert B. “Bob” Santos, 91, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 26, 2020 after a period of declining health. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris K. (Ward) Santos.
Born in New Bedford and raised in New York, Bob was a son of the late M. Robert and Helena (Sylvia) Santos, both of New Bedford. He was a 1947 graduate of Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York, before enlisting in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
Bob had a varied and rewarding career with the Bell System, starting his career with AT&T in New York. He held various managerial positions in engineering, long lines, and planning in the Northeast region. Bob spent many years with AT&T, eventually retiring from NYNEX. He was very highly thought of throughout New York and New England.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Sharon L. Santos of Blackstone and Karen L. Santos of Woodland, Washington; and his brother, James E. “Jimmy” Santos of Hampton Bays, Long Island, New York.
Services will be held privately, due to the current global health crisis.
