Robert F. “Bob” Angell, 80, of Shrewsbury died in his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday June 19, 2020.

Bob as he was known to his family and friends was born in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, son of the late John W. Angell, Sr., and Olga (Poznaski) Angell.

He attended High School and then began a career in the trucking industry. He owned and operated his own truck and trailer and hauled heavy equipment for various companies throughout the United States for many years before he retired twenty years ago. On several of those bi-coastal travels, his wife Phyllis joined him on the road. When not traveling in his truck, Bob enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden at the homestead on Avon Ave in Shrewsbury.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Phyllis P. (Lossano) Angell; a son, Steven Angell of Assonet, MA; a step son, Brian Cote of Auburn and step-daughter, Marylan Soderman and her husband Roy of Ocala, Florida; daughter-in-law, Michelle A. Angell of Sutton; two grandchildren Morgan and Dale Angell of Sutton; also survived by two nephews. Bob was predeceased by a son, Robert F. Angell, Jr., a brother, John Angell, and a sister Gloria Bielski.

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday June 25, 2020 in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is honored in assisting the Angell family with arrangements.

Dearest Pat & Family,
Our most heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Bob was so full of fun and life, and lit up the world around him. Especially if you were a doggie, he loved them so. We like to think of him in peace surrounded by all his beloved loved ones and his K9 friends.

Bob has been our neighbor for about 40 years. He was a hard worker and kind man. I remember him hauling with his big semi truck! He worked hard! For at least half of that 40 years, we were privileged to have him maintain our dirt road. It would have been pretty bumpy without Bob!! He spent hours grading it for his neighbors!! 💔He was always joking and riding his golf cart to visit friends on out street. It’s going to feel very sad around here with seeing Bob! We will miss him very much!♥️
