Obituary for Phyllis M. Bleau (Chapdelaine)

Phyllis M. (Chapdelaine) Bleau, 84, of Auburn and Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Southbridge Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was the devoted wife to the late Clifford Bleau for over 50 years, who predeceased her in 2008.

Born in Grafton, Phyllis was one of three children of the late Oliver and Emma (Thibeault) Chapdelaine. She worked at College of the Holy Cross for many years in housekeeping. In her free time, she enjoyed cake decorating and camping. Phyllis was also a longtime member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church in Worcester, where she loved attending her Bible study.

She leaves her children: Richard Bleau, of Worcester, Kenneth Bleau and wife Paula, of Quinebaug, CT, and Debra M. Bleau-Slattery, of Worcester; eight grandchildren: Robert, Shawn, Desiree, Krystal, Erin, Elisabeth, Jason, and Derek; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Phyllis was also predeceased by her siblings, Emma (Chapdelaine) Gaulin and Oliver “Sonny” Chapdelaine.

A memorial service will be held privately for Mrs. Bleau’s family, due to the current pandemic restrictions. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
