Obituary for Mary D. "Donna " Day (Muise )
Mary D. “Donna” (Muise) Day, 73, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at UMASS Memorial – University Campus.
Born in Framingham and raised in Bellingham, Donna was one of four children born to the late Joseph R. and Eunice E. (Vanasse) Muise. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1965. In 1968, Donna married the love of her life, Bruce S. Day, and the pair made their home in Worcester. She worked as a crossing guard for the New Ludlow School in Worcester for many years, alongside working at Putnams Card and Gifts, also in Worcester. Most recently, Donna worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Goddard School, which she loved.
In her free time, Donna enjoyed the beaches of Cape Cod, especially Brewster; her cats, especially her feline friend, Jake; but most of all, cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Along with Bruce, she leaves her children, Thomas B. Day and his wife Ariadne D. Loss, Steven R. Day, and Laurie A. McCumber and her husband Matthew; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Hannah, Samantha, and Jessica; her siblings, Ronald Muise, Deborah Fedorchak, and James Muise; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Burn Care Unit (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/ways-to-give1).
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Donna’s family between 9:30 and 10:30 AM on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Faith Church, 22 Faith Avenue, Auburn. Burial will be held privately for her family.
