Obituary for Gloria M. Tobin (Harding)

Gloria M. Tobin, 94, of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 27, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her devoted husband of almost 73 years, Richard P. Tobin; her daughter: Maureen L. Caramiello and her husband Carlo A. Caramiello, of North Brookfield; her grandson, Gino P. Caramiello, Sr. and his wife Stephanie, of North Brookfield; her great-grandchildren, Gino P. Caramiello, Jr., Alexia A. Caramiello, Faith E.N. Caramiello, and Alex E. Caramiello, all of North Brookfield; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, the late Edward G. Harding, Sr. and Anna L. (Wespalis) Harding, Gloria was predeceased by her siblings, Louise (Harding) Crawford and Edward G. Harding, Jr.

Gloria was born in New Braintree and was raised in North Brookfield, attending the former St. Joseph Catholic School and graduating from North Brookfield High School. She married Richard, the love of her life, on September 6, 1947 and the two shared a wonderful life together, settling in Auburn to begin their family. Gloria enjoyed a lengthy career, working at numerous local banks.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, but above all, loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of their friends.

Gloria’s family would like to give a special thank you to VNA hospice and elder services workers and especially, all of their family and friends who assisted during this difficult time.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, followed by her funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
