Obituary for Mark J. Hanratty

Mark J. Hanratty, 60, of Leicester, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his son, Ryan Hanratty, of Auburn; his daughter, Alicia (Hanratty) Belanger and her husband Peter, of Charlton; his grandson and granddaughter, Connor and Samantha Belanger, of Charlton; his siblings, Francis Hanratty, III and his wife Sunok, of Alabama, Michael Hanratty and his wife Linda, of Oregon, and Nancy Hanratty and her husband David Guilbault, of Bernardston, MA; along with three nieces and a nephew.

Born and raised in Auburn, Mark was one of four children born to the late Francis Hanratty, Jr. and Natalie (Davidson) Hanratty. He graduated from Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School, specializing in Auto Body, and later graduated from Fitchburg State College as a Vocational Instructor. Mark worked for George Luddy Chevrolet as an Auto Body Technician, then worked at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School and most recently worked for Upper Cape Regional Vocational Technical High School as a Vocational Instructor in Collisions Repair.

Mark loved the ocean and the Cape, especially Bourne and Nauset, reading, and going for walks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made towards the future generations’ education of his dedicated field to Bay Path Collision Repair c/o Business Office, 57 Old Muggett Hill Road, Charlton, MA 01507.

Services and Burial will be private. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting in arrangements.
