Obituary for James F. "Jim" Carlin Sr.

Sergeant James F. Carlin, Sr., Jacksonville/Shrewsbury. 78.

He leaves his wife, Mary E. Greene-Carlin; stepson, Robert Jones and stepdaughter, Molly Jones of Jacksonville, Florida. He also leaves his sons, Christopher Carlin and his wife, Ahn, and Shawn Carlin and his wife, Alyssa; and his grandchildren, Gabby, Dylan, Alivia Carlin and step granddaughter Kayla. He leaves two brothers, Joseph and his wife, Harriet, Michael and his wife, Betsy; and many nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves his beloved dog, Zoey, who was always by his side; and also leaves many friends. He was loved by all.

Jim is preceded by his mother, Elizabeth, and father, Aloysius Carlin; his first wife, Mary A. Carlin; and his son, James F. Carlin, Jr.

Jim served in the Air Force in Vietnam as an Air Police Officer. Jim loved the Town of Shrewsbury, where he served as a Police Officer for 46 years. He loved his job. He loved going to Maine to his camper and spending time with friends and family there. He enjoyed many summers at Old Orchard Beach at Powderhorn Campground. He loved visiting The Cape, and spending winters in Florida. He loved reading, cooking, and trying different foods. Jim always had a good story for whoever would listen.

Funeral arrangements are being arranged by Britton Funeral Home in Shrewsbury, MA, and Fraser Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida. There will be a graveside service on December 6th, 2022 at 2pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
