Obituary for Catherine M. "Kay" (Maloney) Drakos
Catherine M. “Kay” (Maloney) Drakos, 96, of Worcester, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Holden Rehabilitation, with her family by her side. Her beloved husband, Thomas J. Drakos, Sr., predeceased her on October 14, 2001.
She leaves her son, Thomas J. Drakos, Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Rutland; a daughter, Jean D. Theodoropoulos, of Leicester; her grandchildren, Denise Theodoropoulos, Brandon Drakos, and Lindsey Drakos; her two great-grandchildren; her niece Darlene Maloney and husband Dennis Langlois; and nephew William Maloney and wife Lorraine; all of East Greenwich, RI. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Edward J. Maloney, William Maloney, Bernard Maloney, and Eileen Chickinski; and their parents, William and Susan (McMahon) Maloney.
Kay was born in Worcester, and lived most of her life there. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1945, and graduated from Worcester School of Business Science. Kay worked as Assistant Clerical Supervisor at State Mutual Insurance Company.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization or charity of the reader’s choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Drakos family from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 Noon at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
