Obituary for Charles T. "Charlie" Hannah

Charles T. “Charlie” Hannah, 69, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He leaves his beloved husband, José G. Moran, of Worcester; his siblings, J. Mark Hannah and his wife Kim, of Peachtree City, GA, Paul F. Hannah and his wife Carol, of Ashland, and Marie A. Hannah, of Connecticut; his nieces and nephews, Kyle Hannah and his wife Allison of Virginia, Brett Hannah of California, Ryan Hannah and his wife Sarah of Georgia, Marybeth Hannah of Ashland, Shawn Hannah of New York, Melissa Fuentes, of Whitinsville, Benito Fuentes of Boston, and Nicholas Fuentes and his fiancée Elizabeth of Connecticut; five great nieces and nephews, Rory, Maren, Nathan, Kamila, and Jack. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Chester and Coco.

Charlie was born in Worcester, to the late John E. Hannah and Eleanor M. (McMahon) Hannah-Harris. He was raised in Shrewsbury, graduating from Shrewsbury High School and went on to attend Worcester State College, where he received a B.S. degree in Biology in 1976. Charlie went back to school and received his Registered Nursing Associates degree from Florida State College in 1997. He worked for Firstat Home Care as a Registered Nurse, then at Maxim Healthcare Services. More recently, Charlie worked for Home Health Care, Union Home Healthcare Services, and ABBA Home Care, as Program Director.

In his free time, he enjoyed painting, crafting, traveling, cooking, and antiquing. Charlie especially loved spending time gardening, remodeling his and Jose’s home and playing with his beloved dogs.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Charlie’s family from 3 – 5 PM on Saturday, November 19, at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A prayer service will immediately follow at 5 PM.
