Obituary for Robert Bourgeois
Robert Bourgeois, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at UMASS Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Robert was born in Gardner, MA to the late Aime and Jeannette (Tremblay) Bourgeois. An infant son and daughter predeceased him, as well as his brother, James.
He was employed by Iandoli’s Markets and later Shaw’s until his retirement.
He leaves the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Anne Mary (Flynn) Bourgeois; his daughter, Cynthia and son-in-law Carl DiPinto, of South Dennis; three granddaughters, Danielle (Carlo) and Christina of Seattle, and Julia of Boston; a sister, Lorraine Rahaim (Pete), of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Robert enjoyed bowling, golf and cards, as well as travelling with friends and family.
The family would like to express its most heartfelt appreciation to the staff at UMASS Medical Center and especially Sean and Elyse and the ICU staff for their care and compassion.

Per his wishes, his body was donated to UMASS Medical School. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street in Shrewsbury.
