Obituary for Rejeanne M. (Blais) Stevens

Rejeanne M. “Reggie” (Blais) Stevens, 87, of Boylston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, David B. Stevens, in 2021.

She leaves her five children, James P. Stevens and his wife Sharon, of Myrtle Beach, SC, D. Scott Stevens, of Valatie, NY, Bonnie J. Garceau and her husband Daniel, of Princeton, Claudine M. Ballard and her husband Stephen, of Hubbardston, and Thomas G. Stevens and his wife Nemia, who resided with Reggie in Boylston. Rejeanne was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Reggie was also predeceased by her siblings, Roger Blais, Jeanine Desrosier, Rene Blais, Lorraine Croteau, Archie Blais, and Claudette Stefan.

Reggie was born in Mexico, Maine, daughter of the late Archille and Mazalie (Roy) Blais. She attended and graduated from Holy Name High School in Worcester, and began a short career working as a secretary at Assumption College until she met and married David in 1957. Reggie loved being a stay-at-home mother to raise her 5 children for the next 25 years, then joined David in business, working as his Executive Assistant at Mortgage Training Solutions in Boylston. Later she returned to the secretarial field to work as a personal assistant for several clients who became lifelong friends. In her free time, Reggie enjoyed gardening, watching the birds, traveling with Seniors on the Go, playing cards with family, friends and other seniors and, most recently, puzzle making.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Notre Dame Health Care, Attn: Development Office, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605 (Donate Online Here).

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for Reggie’s funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough, MA. Per her wishes, calling hours and entombment will be held privately for her immediate family. The Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
