He was a game he truly loved. When his children were younger, he volunteered with the Boy Scouts and coached baseball. In later years, he would go to as many events as he could to see his four grandchildren.

Michael was a long time member of Saint Mary’s Parish where he served active as a lector and usher at the 7:30 am Sunday Mass.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Virginia J. (May) Monahan; two sons, Michael G. Monahan and his wife Kristen of Tewksbury, MA. and Timothy G. Monahan and his wife Karen of West Palm Beach, Florida; four grandchildren, Michael G. Monahan, Kathryn T. Monahan, Jonah Monahan and Shawnessy Monahan; a sister, Kathleen Monahan Murphy and her husband John of Pensacola, Florida. Besides his parents he is predeceased by a brother, James Monahan.

Tim, Mike & Ginny, How many times we think of the wonderful times we had as neighbors and friends. Tim, you were like our 'other kid' being in our house with Chris. You two could virtually complete each other sentences. Your dad taught you well, giving you his wit, which showed itself in an instant. Our love & prayers are with you and your family.

Tim,
I remember all the times you were at our house hanging out with my brother Chris. Every time I drove by your house over the past 30 years I thought of you and your family. I watched your dad on television for many years and had great memories of you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss! Your dad was such a great man and I am sure he will be greatly missed by your family.

Sending my sympathy to your family on the loss of your husband and dad. Mr. Monahan was a good friend to my dad, Chuck Savage. My dad often recalled the fun they had together in the Kiwanis Club days in Auburn. Wishing you peace.

To Mikes Family
It was with great sadness that I read about Mikes passing in the Auburn Newspaper a few days ago. Mike was a kind and gentle person and a great classmate in a great class of students. It was great to see and talk to Mike at our sixty class reunion in 2018.
He achieved so much in live especially in the raising of his family and his love for all of you.
May God hold him by his side until we all meet Mike again.
